Waste Governance in Armenia

LIFE Foundation has been commissioned by the Swedish Embassy in order to assist the Armenian government’s reform agenda aimed at achieving EU-approximation within the framework of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and to contribute to Armenia’s commitment to the Sustainability Goals (SDGs) within the Agenda 2030.

To take steps towards these defined goals, Armenia has expressed a need for support and international expertise, in order to identify what measures are the most effective in specific fields, and to build national expertise and capacity of relevant institutions and organizations within the country. LIFE Foundation is implementing a 'Waste Govenance Project' in order to support Armenian Government to help realise their goals.

The overall scope of the project is to provide independent expert advice to Armenian decision makers, using Armenian and EU experts, for development of a national solid waste governance policy, strategy and roadmap.

LIFE Foundation is proud to work together with MILAV (Miljö och Avfallsbyrån i Mälardalen AB) in providing Swedish expertise in this project.

LIFE Foundation is arranging a three day workshop together with the American University of Armenia in Yerevan, Armenia during December 5-7 as a kick-off for the project “Waste Governance in Armenia.”
