On May 26, we kicked off the PowHer Leaders Programme with an inspiring full-day hybrid event gathering participants and the programme team online and in Dnipro and Lviv, Ukraine. The launch marked the beginning of a journey that will equip women leaders across Ukraine with new tools, networks, and opportunities to drive change in their communities.
We are proud to welcome 40 women educators, entrepreneurs, and civil society professionals from across Ukraine. Together, they represent 17 cities and regions, creating a powerful national network that reflects the diversity, resilience, and expertise contributing to Ukraine’s recovery and development.
Over the coming months, participants will strengthen their leadership, digital, and innovation skills while developing practical projects designed to create local impact for women and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Ukraine. Their ideas span a wide range of themes, including:
💡 Digital skills programmes that help women access new employment opportunities and thrive in the digital economy.
💡 Entrepreneurship initiatives that support women in launching and growing businesses, particularly in communities affected by displacement and conflict.
💡 Community learning hubs that provide inclusive access to digital tools, mentorship, and career development opportunities.
💡 Training and support programmes that help vulnerable groups build confidence, resilience, and future-ready skills.
What unites these projects is a shared commitment to creating more inclusive opportunities for women while strengthening communities across the country.
A huge thank you to all participants, partners, mentors, and facilitators who joined us for this exciting first step. We look forward to following the ideas, collaborations, and impact that will emerge from the PowHer community in the months ahead!
