International expertise for waste governance in Armenia
LIFE Foundation worked on a project called ”Waste Governance in Armenia.” The project initiated in October 2018 and was concluded in September 2019.
LIFE Foundation was commissioned by The Swedish Embassy in Yerevan in order to support The Armenian government’s reform agenda aimed at achieving EU-approximation within the framework of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and to contribute to Armenia’s commitment to the Sustainability Goals (SDGs) within the Agenda 2030. To take steps towards these defined goals, Armenia expressed a need for support and international expertise, in order to identify what measures are the most effective in specific fields, and to build national expertise and capacity of relevant institutions and organisations within the country.
The overall scope of the project was to provide independent expert advice to Armenian decision makers, using Armenian and EU experts, for development of a national solid waste governance policy, strategy and roadmap.
LIFE Foundation was happy to announce collaboration with MILAV (Miljö och AvfallsbyråniI Mälardalen AB) in providing Swedish expertise in this project.
